Many people, for various reasons, refuse to use and, in many cases, even own a credit card. This can prove to be very good for their credit and their financial situation while at the same time can be very bad if they need to rent a car or place a large amount of money on an item to either secure the item or as a deposit for the item. In many cases, rental companies will simply refuse to rent to someone who doesn’t have a credit card (or debit card) as there is too much liability involved in the rental process. Thankfully, a few companies have seen this and have decided that, despite the risks, they will offer those people who don’t have a credit card the chance to rent a car.

These companies will generally require a large deposit to cover the costs of any damages that may be sustained to the vehicle while it’s in your possession. A few even go as far as having you pay the deposit, the costs for the terms in the rental agreement and various other fees up front before you drive off the lot; this effectively means that you’ve prepaid for the use of the car.

However, aside from the monetary setbacks that you are likely to encounter in the event you have to pay cash for a rental car, there is another factor to look at. Because of the fact that this is not a common practice, not every airport will have a company that offers this service. In fact, very few do. Nevertheless, with a little careful planning you will be able to secure a vehicle from a company that suits your needs.

What could be more fun than a Las Vegas vacation? How about a low cost Las Vegas vacation? By doing a little research and naming your own price, you can save a significant amount of money on airfare and car rentals.

Of course, the granddaddy of the name-your-own-price websites is Priceline.com. Navigation is simple. You go to the site and enter your destination, the days you will be traveling, and how much you want to pay for your car rental and airfare. (Priceline also handles hotel fares.) Priceline compares your bid against what is currently available. If it finds a match, your bid is accepted.

Priceline can provide airline tickets and rental cars at astonishingly low prices, but it does have a few drawbacks. Priceline is known as an opaque seller
